Early on Saturday morning I saw and participated in the phenomenon of "A Shuffle", when I attended my first mass flu vaccination clinic at our local Health Centre. She is too young I hear you cry, well in our neck of the woods you get your first call up as you are approaching 60, which in my case will arrive early next year.
Arriving by car with Hubby by my side we observed that every car entering and leaving the car park was inhabited by a mature couple. The "Grey's" were out inforce where ever you looked, in the car park, the foyer, the stairwell, the reception and waiting room. A sea of "Grey". The sight just tickled my fancy.
The staff at the Health centre were extremely efficient in dealing with their Saturday morning charges and in the case of my Hubby and myself we were seen, injected and sent on our way in no time at all. To get on with what ever elderly people do on a Saturday.
On Leaving the Health centre more "Grey's" were flocking in, it was like we had taken over the World and no other age group existed.
Beware of the "Shuffle".
And thank you for asking the Flu jab was painless and no discomfort on the injection site this evening. However because I was a first timer they gave me a one off vaccination against pneumonia, jab ok but tonight injection site sore. But I am being brave:)
