This post is what I thought it meant but posted on a Wednesday so both interpretations are applied.
I have never ranted on this blog but today I am going to have a Hump Day as I am so frustrated with the lack of progress and the injustice of how individuals are overlooked and ignored by big national companies and bureaucrats.
I live in a small hamlet and we have been trying to improve our broadband speed. Currently at an average of 1.2Mbps. No use to man or beast or businesses.
We were let down very badly years ago when we were overlooked by a government lead initiative for rural communities, as we were told we would be under the BT commercial umbrella. But it turns out we are too small a community and not profitable enough to be looked after by BT.
Broadband fibre has been supplied to the North, South, East and West of us and we have been left in a dessert of slow broadband.
A committee was formed about 6 months ago to find a way for the village to finance and install it ourselves, as nobody else is going to in the near future. Surveys were filled in, contact was made with the relevant authorities. Villager's were more than happy to sign up for better Broadband.
Open Reach and BT for the North East have been unhelpful and so slow, it is making it difficult to even help ourselves. Not replying to emails. Saying they will produce quotes by certain dates which come and go and still no information, so we cannot move forward. The most frustrating thing is that we live less than 3 miles from the main exchange, never mind how close the fibred cabinet is to us. But with our old telephone wire coming in under the fields, even the landline telephone communication is poor.
Ever had that feeling you are being given the run around?
YES
Names, email addresses and Twitter accounts of said slow coaches can be supplied if you get in touch with me. That is if you want to have a try and get this project moving again, as the committee's efforts have fallen on deaf ears so far!
